Project Details

Project timelines vary based on scope and complexity. A simple patio might take 3-5 days, while a complete outdoor kitchen with multiple features could take 2-3 weeks. Larger projects like extensive porch additions or multi-level decks may take 3-4 weeks. We'll provide a detailed timeline during your consultation before any work begins.
The best choice depends on your budget, maintenance preferences, and aesthetic goals. Pressure-treated pine is most economical and lasts 20+ years with proper maintenance. Cedar offers natural beauty and rot resistance. Composite decking (Trex, TimberTech) provides the ultimate in low maintenance with 25-year fade and stain warranties but at a higher price point. We can show you samples and discuss options during your consultation.
Requirements vary by municipality and project type. Generally, ground-level patios and paver installations don't require permits in Sussex County. However, decks over 30 inches above grade, porch additions, and structures with electrical or gas all require permits. We handle all permitting when required as part of our service.
We accept checks, credit cards, and can discuss payment plans for larger projects. A deposit is required to schedule work, with the balance due upon completion. We never require full payment upfront. We provide detailed contracts with payment schedules clearly outlined.
Yes, we provide a 5-year workmanship warranty on all our projects. Material warranties vary by manufacturer - composite decking typically includes 25-year fade and stain warranties from the manufacturer. We also offer ongoing maintenance services to help protect your investment.

Caring for Your Investment

Paver patios are very low maintenance. Occasional sweeping and rinsing with a hose is usually sufficient. We recommend sealing pavers every 2-3 years to maintain color and prevent weeds in joints. If weeds do appear between pavers, a simple application of polymeric sand or a weed killer will address them. We offer paver maintenance services for existing patios.
For pressure-treated pine and cedar decks, we recommend staining or sealing every 2-3 years. Composite decking never needs staining or sealing - just occasional cleaning with soap and water. We can provide maintenance recommendations specific to your project during the final walkthrough.
If you notice loose boards, wobbly railings, or other issues, contact us right away. We offer repair services for decks we built and can often help with decks built by others. Prompt attention to minor issues prevents more costly repairs down the road.
